mandarin
Mandarin oranges are delicious. Sweeter than regular oranges. These are treasured in the orient and exchanged during the Chinese New Year.
In France, essential oil obtained from the rind of the mandarin orange is regarded as a children's remedy. Used to treat the flu and other children ailments. Unlike orange oil, mandarin oil contains a mild sedative component that is very relaxing. A wonderful oil to use in a child's bed time bath.
I used to make a milk mandarin bath for my kids when they were small and suffering from eczema. 2 cups powdered milk, 4 tablespoons honey and 3 drops of mandarin oil in a baby bath full of water made a delightful bath the kids loved. Years later, when they are now way too big for that tiny baby bath tub, they still ask me for that special bath.
These days, a massage oil of 1 tablespoon grapeseed oil and 3 drops of mandarin oil would have to suffice. Applied after a bath, this leaves a delightful scent.
