I've been trained in classical music all my life. Sometimes, the most beautiful piece of classical music, played for 2 hours daily, every day for months, bores me to death. I might love it at first but overdose of that same classical piece makes me sick of it.
With jazz, the more I listen to a piece, the more I love it. (This is just my personal view. There are friends of mine who love classical music but hate jazz and others who love jazz but hate classical music, and others who love both and excel in both.) Some of the musician friends I respect the most are brilliant with jazz.
