Hibiscus has medicinal properties as well as beauty applications.
In Malaysia, women would use the petals of the hibiscus to darken their eyebrows. Skin eruptions were treated with juice from the leaves and roots of the hibiscus plant.

Native Americans use the Hibiscus to treat urinary infections.
In Hawaii, the root was used to purify the blood and the flower bases and buds were used as a laxative.

In Africa, its antibacterial are well known too.
In South America and West Indies it is used to treat snake bites.
The hibiscus is therefore a good plant to have. Its large showy flowers are beautiful, while the uses of the plant itself are many.
