Some ideas. Touching, mushy birthday poems that describe your friendship or a memorable event you share. Humorous birthday poems about imaginary characters. Limericks, for example, are fun to write. 2 long lines, 2 short lines, 1 long line that includes the punch line of the joke. The 1st, 2nd and 5th lines rhyme. The 3rd and 4th lines rhyme.

There was a young man named Perry
He had a unique birthday party
He drank fine red wine
Ate boots soaked in brine
But the wine didn't agree with his belly.
Or something like that.
